LaTrobe College of Art & Design would like to congratulate all our students on a very successful 2009.

Particular achievements of Visual Art students enrolled in semester 2 were:

Dobrila Subotic, Amelia Liebersbach, Romany Glover, Joanne Glover, Annette Chang, Carol Batchelor, Michele Donegan, Simon Gardam, Ruth McIntosh, Tracey Yapp and Mollie Tregillis from Jane Cocks’ Studio Practice class have been accepted to show their “Plastic Project” at George Paton Gallery, Melbourne University Apr, 2010.

Linda Loh, Studio Art Thursday evening will have a solo show at George Paton Gallery, Melbourne University May 2010

Romany Glover and Penny Parkinson will have a dual show at Counihan Gallery in 2010

Boyd Hughes held a solo show “Salvage” at Red Gallery 2009

Penny Parkinson and Romany Glover showed “I was I am” at Red Gallery 2009

Penny Parkinson was accepted into the Yerring Station Sculpture Exhibition 2009

Penny Parkinson won the Toyota Emerging Sculptor Prize and WON 1st Prize 2009

Janine Parker achieved second prize for photography at the New North Gallery, Photography Prize, Fairfield 2009

Betra Fraval was awarded a 3 months Australia Council Artist In Residency in India 2009

Carol Batchelor and Simon Gardam each held solo shows at LaTrobe Street Gallery 2009

Michele Donegan was involved in the Big Knit Project on Lynch’s Bridge in the Big West Festival in Maribyrnong 2009

The continued strong art world presence of visual art students of Latrobe College is a testament to our dedicated staff and innovative program.

We are also pleased to announce that as of December 2009 we are a fully registered institute of art & design offering the nationally recognised, state accredited Diploma of Visual Arts. This has been an enormous job we thank very much all the people involved.
